The conference is a strategically significant investment promotion event, opening up a phase of deeper cooperation between Nghe An province and Korean partners in key areas such as future technology, clean energy, digital economy, logistics, and sustainable development.
This is also an opportunity for Nghe An province to directly introduce its outstanding potential, new development opportunities, and flexible preferential policies to the Korean business community.
In his opening remarks at the conference, Vietnamese Ambassador to South Korea Vu Ho highly appreciated Nghe An’s initiative in organizing the event. Ambassador Vu Ho emphasized that Vietnam-South Korea relations are developing strongly on the foundation of a comprehensive strategic partnership, expanding into high technology, energy, digital transformation, and human resource training.
Nghe An is considered a sacred place – the birthplace of President Ho Chi Minh – holding an important position in the North Central region with abundant human resources and significant potential for development.
The Ambassador affirmed that the Vietnamese Embassy and Trade Office in South Korea are always ready to cooperate and act as a bridge to help resolve difficulties, and expressed the hope that after the conference, both sides will have specific action plans with clear contact points and measurable results.
Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Khac Than emphasized the province’s central position in the North Central region, stating that Nghe An has the potential for comprehensive development, from multimodal infrastructure (roads, railways, Cua Lo deep-water seaport, Vinh international airport) to abundant human resources, with a population of approximately 3.8 million people, and a high-quality education and vocational training system.
The Provincial Party Secretary affirmed Nghe An’s strong commitment to creating a fair and favorable investment environment; preparing clean land in the expanded Southeast Economic Zone; applying a streamlined “one-stop” procedure mechanism; and ensuring clean energy infrastructure for projects.
During the discussion, the Korean partners showed particular interest in ESG incentive policies and mechanisms, as well as the carbon market, including policies for businesses to reduce emissions, access to renewable energy sources (DPPA), and the benefits of locating factories in clean energy-integrated industrial parks to meet global sustainability standards.

In addition, manufacturers of heavy machinery and power equipment (products weighing from 500 to 3,000 tons) have stringent requirements regarding logistics infrastructure and transportation processes that connect directly to seaports.
The Korean delegates also discussed opportunities for integrated cooperation in ESG and artificial intelligence (AI) training in universities and colleges in the province, and explored investment channels in the defense industry for small and medium-sized enterprises.
In a direct exchange and clarification of issues of concern to investors, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee, Bui Thanh An, along with representatives from various departments and agencies, stated that the province is focusing on completing the Cua Lo deep-water port project, while also upgrading Vinh International Airport and promoting a direct flight route between Vinh and South Korea.
The province has proposed the Dong Hoi Industrial Park and the surrounding area of the specialized port as the optimal location for heavy machinery projects and oversized/heavy energy equipment projects.
Regarding clean energy, Nghe An has large-scale potential of over 4,500 MW (including hydropower, wind power, solar power, and the 1,500 MW Quynh Lap LNG project implemented by SK Group in a joint venture), fully meeting green production standards.
Within the framework of the conference, in the presence of the leaders of Nghe An province and delegates, Hoang Thinh Dat Joint Stock Company signed a cooperation agreement with the Global Smart Mobility Association.
